2020/2021 Auditions

Zoetic Dance is seeking female dancers for our upcoming 2020/2021 season’s projects. Dancers must have strong ballet and contemporary dance foundations, strong partnering skills, a willingness to work collaboratively and creatively and an honor of the female spirit. Interested dancers who would like more information on Zoetic and our upcoming season, please email Mallory@zoeticdance.org.

In light of the global pandemic, this year’s audition process will be done virtually. Please see virtual audition guidelines below:

Video submissions for interested dancers will be open beginning June 1 and will close July 24. Dancers be will considered for a video interview/virtual meet and greet before final selections are made. 

Video submission requirements:

  • 2 minutes max of improvisation.

  • Two 2-3 minute contemporary phrases. Please give credit to choreographer. Show your versatility! 

  • 1-2 minute across the floor grande allegro combination including the following:

  • Inversions 

    1. Leaps of any kind (ex. barrel turns, grande jetés, stag jump, calypso, etc.)

    2. Floor work 

  • 1-2 minutes speaking on your desires and aspirations as an artist and why you are interested in working with Zoetic Dance.

  • Email resume, headshot & dance reel and any other relevant materials such as professional website to Mallory@zoeticdance.org.

Let’s party! Join the ladies of Zoetic at Sweet Auburn BBQ on Thursday 01.23.2020 as we kick off the start of a new decade and our MIXTAPE 2020 initiative.

Enjoy a specially crafted cocktail menu, performances by Zoetic Dance and Xavier “Xay Zoleil” Lewis. All proceeds from the event will go directly towards Zoetic Dance artists and MIXTAPE. Stop by any time between 7-10pm!

Zoetic Dance presents, SAINT, in partnership with Ambient+ Studios.

What is a woman - Holy, unholy and all in between - a Saint. Her story is the story of every Woman. She: the hard work and perseverance of Her Mother. How She manifests Herself in each of us. 

SAINT is a collaborative dance project presented by Zoetic Dance Ensemble about the evolution of perspective and the ideologies of individualized and collective femininity. A culmination of unique female voices, bodies and spirits, SAINT is a hymn for the modern Woman - a champion of sisterhood and womankind. 

Original choreography by Mallory Baxley, and Zoetic Dance artists. Original score by Xavier “Xay Zoleil” Lewis. Original costume design by Hannah James. Set design and graphics by Morgen Billingslea Tanksley.
